Job scams appear to be a legitimate job opportunity, but really the sender is trying to gather information about you, such as your bank account information or Social Security Number.

What you should do
Never give out any of your personal information. Official University positions are advertised on Handshake and any financial paperwork will be done through Student Financial Services.
Don’t reply to an email that asks for your personal email address or cell phone number. Official University positions will be communicated through your Bay Path email address.
Reach out to Career Services at careers@baypath.edu to confirm if the position is legitimate.

What to do if you responded to a job scam
Immediately contact your bank to let them know what happened
Visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website on Identity Theft, which will walk through the steps to remediate the situation: https://www.identitytheft.gov/
